Message to Cheshire CCC members, April 2025 from Jim Law, Chair, Cheshire CCC
I’m pleased to enclose your 2025 membership card, details of our 200 Club and our exciting range of sponsorship and marketing opportunities. Once again, I’d like to thank you for your continued support for the Club.
Fees were due on 1 January 2025 and if you’ve not yet paid, you can do so by BACS, cheque or via our website.
200 Club
Our revamped draw proved very successful last year and for 2025 we’re again offering a £50 monthly prize and an annual £200 draw in July. We’ve also ‘ad hoc’ cash prizes and will keep you posted. Joining the 200 Club costs just £5 a month.
Playing across the county
This year we again have matches across the county with 1st and 2nd XI home games at Hyde, Nantwich, Toft, Didsbury, Oxton, Northwich, Chester and Alderley Edge.
Reflecting on 2024 and looking forward
2024 was a mixed season. We prospered with the white ball, reaching the KO Trophy
Final, but slipped into division 2 of the championship. We also saw Stewart Macleod hang up his 2nd XI boots after many years but we’re fortunate, with our 2025 focus very much on developing our youngsters, that Nick Brooks takes over. He’ll have great coaching support from Andy Dufty and Gavin Colebourn.
There are 1st XI captaincy changes too. Sam Perry leads our T20/50 over teams and David Wainwright oversees the championship side. More on the website.
I’d also like to highlight that the KO Trophy 50 over final will this year be held at Chester Boughton Hall - hopefully featuring Cheshire!
Once again, many thanks for your support and let’s hope the sun shines in 2025 on some great cricket.
Jim Law
Chair, Cheshire CCC
