Cheshire squeezed into the NCCA KO Trophy quarter finals after pipping Shropshire on net run rate to finish as group runner-up to Suffolk. They'll now face Cumbria at Keswick next Sunday, 2 July (11.00am).

The match against Shropshire was abandoned just 3.3 overs into the Cheshire innings, replying to a formidable 336-7.

Having been put into bat, mainstay of the Shropshire inniings was Tom Fell with 117, following on from his hundred against Cambridgeshre last weekend.

Andre Bradford hit 53 in a 96 run second wicket stand with Fell, and captain Charlie Home hit a fine 62 as Shropshire surged at the end of their innings.

Ben Kohler-Cadmore fell for 12 in the Cheshire reply but heavy rain forced the players off with the score on 18-1.

The poor weather continued throughout the afternoon and despite ongoing attempts by the groundstaff and umpires to continue an over-reduced match, play was finally called off at 6.25pm.

Cheshire will travel to Keswick with confidnce having defeated the Cumbrians twice in a T20 double header at Netherfield earlier this year.
