Cheshire v Northumberland - NCCA Group 1 'Double Header'

Saturday's sunshine and a decent Sunday forecast proved in vain as persistent rain put paid to any chance of Cheshire and Northumberland contesting their opening T20 double header at Chester Boughton Hall.

Expectations were high after poor weather earlier in the week but after great work from the Chester ground staff, the meteorologists got it wrong and early morning rain soon put paid to the first game.

With the potential to start the second game as late as 4pm, an early lunch was taken but the heavens opened to force an early abandonment.

Staffordshire and Cumbria fared no better at Checkly while there was no game for Shropshire this time round.

Nick Anderson's side now move on to meet Shropshire in the same format at Shifnal next Sunday (23 April) with an 11.00am start.
