Team news: Cheshire 1st XI v Northumberland, Sunday 16 April

Cheshire get their 1st XI season underway this Sunday (16 April) taking on Northumberland in a T20 double header at Chester Boughton Hall from 11.30am.

Cheshire mounted a strong T20 challenge in 2022, reaching the semi finals of the competition before exiting to Oxfordshire.

The 2023 squad have trained well during the close season under Nick Anderson, and are raring to get going in a group that sees them face Northumberland, Shropshire, Staffordshire and Cumbria.

Nottinghamshire's Matt Carter joins up with his new team mates for the first time for the games at Chester Boughton Hall. Sam Perry takes on the role of vice-captain and there's a debut behind the stumps for Sale's Pat Ashling.
