Cheshire got their 2025 T20 campaign off to a flyer with back-to-back wins over Shropshire at Wem.
The first game proved a thriller, Cheshire coming back from the dead to turn what looked certain defeat into a three run win.
Winning the toss and batting first, Cheshire's 164-6 looked slightly under par even with a pitch offering something for the bowlers.
Alex Money top scored with 36, Perry made 23 and Dan Newton 21 before a late surge from the returning Andy Jackson (24*) and Kevin Carroll (33*) ensured a reasonable total. Slow left-armer Lewis Evans impressed with 4-31.
The reply started in style with Shropshire adding 44 for the first wicket, George Hargrave making 37. And with Harry Chandler (40*) at the crease, the hosts were in command. But with Perry cleverly mixing his attack, the brakes were applied and an exciting finale saw Cheshire get home by three runs.
Second time round Shropshire took first knock and with Kaushal (43) and Hargrave (29) this time putting on 66 for the first wicket, a decent total looked omnious.
Enter Andy Dufty - back in the Cheshire fold - with a miserly 3-11 from his four overs. A couple of wickets too for Newton and Jackson left Shropshire posting 119-8.
Despirte a couple of wobbles enroute, Cheshire chased the total down with six balls remaing to win by five wickets. George Lavelle made 38 and Perry, 30. Charlie Home took 3-25.
Next week it's back to 50 over action with a quarter final KO tie with Berkshire at Falklands (Newbury) before resuming T20 action with a double header at Nantwich against Staffordshire on 15 June.
