Cheshire CCC 50 over skipper Will Evans' was delighted with his side after collecting a first KO Trophy victory.
"After the long lay off it was strange getting back together at Didsbury a couple of weeks ago and we weren't at our best against Cumbria.
"We had to shuffle the pack for this one and it was great to welcome Charles, Steve and Dane. They've all worked hard to earn their place and having them available highlights our stength in depth.
"We learnt a lot from this performace too. Our total of 241 was perhaps a little shy but better than it could have been after an indifferent start.
"Our middle and late order really applied themselves well though and we were reasonably happy with 241. Rob Sehmi's innings saw him at his best and we know there's more to come.
"Dave Wainwright and Andy Jackson are clearly a great double act as they not only batted well to turn things round but bowling together changed the game for us.
"We're still working things through of course but it's exciting times with the likes of Ben Gibbon and Mike Finan in our attack too. We were building a really useful looking attack before things came to a halt and it feels like we've picked up from where we left off.
"Now we have to tackle Shropshire who we know to be a strong outfit. With John Abraham now at the helm as Director of Cricket, they'll be a class act. We look forward to taking them on at Toft."
