David Wainwright took 4-12 in a truncated first day of Cheshire's must-win game with Berkshire at Newbury.
A wet wicket saw play delayed until 4pm when Rob Sehmi won the toss to put the hosts into bat.
Wainwright got the breakthrough on 57 removing Archie Carter for 24 and went on to claim 4-12 with new-boy Sam Grant getting his first wicket for the County - Sam Perera caught behind.
Wainwright went on to remove danger men Euan Woods, Richard Morri and Dan Lincoln but Cheshire will be wary with Andy Rishton still at the crease.
Nevertheless, a fruitful first day for Cheshire although ominously Oxfordshire bowled out Dorset for 129 befor emaking 80-3. Scorecard
