Oxfordshire 329-9 & 168-4 lead Cheshire 354 - 8 dec by 143 runs with 6 wicekts remaing

A topsy-turvy day in the Banbury sunshine left all to play for on day three.

An outstanding 112 from Will Evans edged Cheshire into a 25 run first innings lead and then with the hosts reeling on 59-4, Tom Cosford (72*) and George Tait (35*) added 109 to leave their side ahead and set up an intriguing final day.

Resuming on 18-1, Cheshire lost Sam Perry early on but were buoyed by a fine third wicket partnership of 133 between Calum Rowe (75) and Rob Sehmi (65). The later fireworks were spectacular with Evans' blasting 5 huge sixes and 12 fours. Andrew Jackson (34) and Chris Sanders (31) joined in the fun to add 71 off Cheshire's last five overs. A declaration a ball early denied Oxfordshire the opportunity for maximum batting points. George Tait took 4-130.

A shell-shocked Oxfordshire then gathered forces after the early turmoil as Dave Wainwright took two in two balls.
