Cluberly Western Division 2 Championship - Cheshire v Dorset, Chester Boughton Hall CC, Sun-Tues, 31 Aug-2 Sep 2025

Western Division 2 Table    Western Division 1 Table

Cheshire take on Dorset in their final Championship match of the season next week with the Cluberley Western Division 2 title - and promotion - up for grabs.

With Wiltshire leading the table and having played their four games, either themselves, Dorset or Cheshire will be crowned champions on 2 September.

Wiltshire sit top with 68 points and with 24 points available, Dorset are second with 55 points followed by Cheshire with 44. Wales and Shropshire are on 22 and 20 points respectively and play at St Asaph.

Cheshire must take the maximum 24 points at Chester Boughton Hall to win the title/promotion - 16 points for a win and 8 first innings bonus points (4 batting / 4 bowling). This would put them level with Wiltshire but Cheshire would qualify as they took 10 points to Wiltshire's 9 in the drawn game at Alderley Edge between the two sides.

Dorset have already played at Chester this year when they defeated Shropshire in the KO Trophy Final in July, while Cheshire beat them in May at Didsbury in the same competiion's group stages.

Dorset also have an opportunity to take the NCCA T20 title when they compete in Final's Day at Wormsley this Sunday (24 August).

The game at Chester Boughton Hall starts at 11am each morning, admission is free, there's plenty of parking and refreshments will be available across all days.

Meantime there's also all to play for in Division 1 where Devon are best placed for the title - they play Oxfordshire - and any Oxfordshire, Herefordshire or Cornwall set to be relegated. Cornwall host Herefordshire.
