Cheshire 2s game against Shropshire Academy ended in victory by 149 runs at Wem.
Jack Grundy captaining the side for the first time won the toss and elected to bat. This proved a good decision as Cheshire made 317-7 off their 50 overs.
Seb Botes dominated the innings with a powerful 102 from 66 balls, after James Dodds (36) and Ned Bailey (36) opened the innings positively from the outset
Rhys Collister maintained the momentum, adding an impressive 60, including 3 sixes. Miles Bradshaw and Dan Wilson made useful contributions at the end, the latter hitting 16 off 5 balls. Luhar was the pick of the Shropshire attack with 3-38, Handley and Rees picking up 2 wickets apiece.
In reply, Shropshire were dismissed for 168 in 34 overs. Prideaux made a hard hitting 44 off 26 deliveries with Walker making the same at virtually a run a ball. Brad Porter finished with 3-34, Dan Wilson 2-15 and the impressive Alex Young 2-20 on debut. Jack Grundy, Miles Bradshaw and Will Espley each picked up a wicket.
