Run 5k for Dan on Saturday 18 April

Following the recent sad passing of Danny Woods, one of Cheshire's finest players, his wife Heather has organised a 5k run with a difference! And there's already nearly 400 people taking part!

To mark what would have been the start of the cricket season, she's arranged a virtual 5k fun run in Dan's memory on the 18th April.

Whether you walk or run, do it on the spot or around the garden, wear running kit or your cricket whites, please join us (in a socially distanced way) to raise money for York's incredible Magnolia Centre. The Magnolia Centre cares for so many people diagnosed with cancer, and were a fantastic support for Dan during his illness.

We know these are strange and difficult times for everyone but if you do feel able, please consider donating a few pounds as your "entry fee" to support such an amazing cause. Dan's JustGiving page is here:

We'd love to share as many pictures and stories of people doing their 5k so please send them through! If you are sharing your pics on social media, then please use the following hashtags: #VirtualFunRun #Backyard5k #BeAmazing #RunforDan
