Cheshire Seniors County Cricket Club
Representative cricket for our over 50s, 60s and 70s
The over 50s was founded in 1990 by Norman Halsall with a team playing in the ECB Competition. Andy Hurworth and Ken Crofton added the over 60s in 2009 also playing in a National Competition. In 2014 the 50s and 60s were consolidated as Cheshire Seniors CCC with Norman as President and Garry Hambleton as its first Chairman. Garry retired in 2019 and was succeeded by Ian Brown. Also retiring in 2019 was long serving 50s Secretary and former wicketkeeper Paul Freedman who from those early years organised the over 50s almost single-handedly. In 2017 Ken launched the over 70s and Cheshire now fields four teams, over 50s, over 60s 1st & 2nd XIs, and over 70s, each playing in National Competitions. Cheshire Seniors County Cricket Club sent a present to Norman Halsall in thanks for all his work in establishing the Seniors teams. Here is Norman's letter to Ian Brown. Whilst separately constituted, from 2020 the Seniors sit with Cheshire County Cricket Club within the Cheshire cricket family. Norman Halsall SENIORS CHAIRMAN Ian Brown 01625-523471 (H)
