NEW CAPTAINS FOR 2018

Cheshire have announced that there will be two captains in charge of Cheshire CCC for the 2018 season.

Rick Moore will Captain the one-day squad and Danny Leech heads the three-day team

T20 FRIENDLY AT NANTWICH CANCELLED

The T20 double-header Friendly against Lancashire Second XI on May 2nd had to be cancelled due to the Nantwich pitch being flooded.


CHESHIRE T20 MATCHES

Cheshire under new T20 skipper, Rick Moore (left), played Cumberland at Toft on Sunday 6th May, winning both matches, and Staffordshire at Knypersley on Monday 7th May, where they lost the first game and won the second one.

CHESHIRE V CUMBERLAND UNICORNS K.O. TROPHY

Cheshire played Cumberland in the second round of the Unicorn's Knock-Out Trophy competition, having had a bye in the first round.

The match was played at Oxton CC on Sunday, 20th May with play starting at 11:00 am.

Cheshire won by 3 runs in a very tight match.

CHESHIRE V NORTHUMBERLAND - T20 COMPETITON

Cheshire played Northumberland in the last home fixture of the Unicorns T20 competition on Sunday, 3rd June 2018.

The games was played at Marple CC with play in the first game starting at 11:00 am.

Northumberland won the first game by 7 wickets with 3 overs to spare. (Cheshire 95 for 9; Northumberland 99 for 3 off 17 overs).

Cheshire won by 129 runs against Lincolnshire in the Quarter Final of the Unicorns KO Trophy competition on Sunday, 10th June 2018.

Cheshire played Lincolnshire in the Unicorns T20 competition on Sunday 17th June with play in the first game starting at 11:00 am.
The games were played at Bourne CC.

(Cheshire 148 for 6; Lincolnshire 140 for 6).

SHROPSHIRE V CHESHIRE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

Cheshire played Shropshire in the first Championship game of the season starting on Sunday 24th June and continuing to the 26th with play starting at 11:00 am each day.
The match was played at Shifnal CC

Lancashire and Northamptonshire called upon several players to play in their Second XI matches, so Cheshire had to modify the team.

Cheshire lost by 166 runs.
Shropshire 276 all out (61.5 overs) and 325 all out (84.3 overs)

SHROPSHIRE V CHESHIRE KO TROPHY SEMI-FINAL

Cheshire beat Shropshire in the Semi Final of the Unicorns Counties KO Tophy on Sunday 1st July by 123 runs.

Cheshire 254 for 9 off 50 overs
Shropshire 131 all out off 27.5 overs.

WALES MC V CHESHIRE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

Cheshire drew with Wales MC in the second Championship match of the season on the 8th - 10th July with play starting at 11:00 am each day.

UNICORNS T20 COMPETITION

Cheshire have qualified for the T20 Finals day to be held at Wormsley on the 26th August with a reserve day of the 27th.

After the games played on Sunday, 15th July between Northumberland and Cumberland, Northumberland matched Cheshire for points but Cheshire had a better net run rate (0.54 v 0.19)

This means that Cheshire will be in both one-day competitions' finals days.

UNICORNS T20 COMPETITION

The draw has now been made for the T20 Finals day to be held at Wormsley on the 26th August with a reserve day of the 27th.

Cheshire will be playing Norfolk in the first game, which starts at 10 am.
Devon will play Berkshire in the second semi-final which will start at 1 pm.
The two finalists will play in a game starting at 4 pm.

Cheshire drew with Dorset in the Championship match played at Nantwich CC on the 22nd - 24th July 2018.

CHESHIRE CCC GOLF DAY 2018

The third annual Cheshire Golf Day took place on Sunday 23rd September at Styal Golf Club on a pleasant, sunny day, despite previous poor weather forecasts.

Nine teams across Cheshire battled it out for first place, with the Chairman's Boys coming in third, the Thompson Quads finishing second but the winners' accolade going to the Bramhall Rejects for taking the coveted first place in a closely-fought competition!

The County Club would like to thank all people who took part for their support, and Styal Golf Club for their hospitality, and we look forward to a greater number of teams taking part next year.

CHESHIRE COUNTY CRICKET CLUB AGM

The 104th Annual General Meeting of the Cheshire County Cricket Club was held on the 19th November, 2018 at the Windmill, Tabley.

At the meeting, John Petch was elected Honorary Secretary, replacing Derrick Hastings, who was appointed an Honorary Life Vice President.

David Leigh was elected as a full member of the Committee, while other Officers and Committee Members were re-elected.
