LEE DIXON APPOINTED CHESHIRE CAPTAIN

Lee Dixon was appointed Captain of Cheshire CCC following the AGM held on Monday, 16th November 2015.

WILL OWEN SIGNS FOR CHESHIRE

Will Owen, the former Glamorgan quick bowler will be joining Cheshire CCC for their 2016 campaign.

CHESHIRE V STAFFORDSHIRE

Cheshire has announced the team to face Staffordshire in the first Knockout Trophy match of the season, which will be played At Nantwich CC on Sunday, 24th April 2016.
Play is scheduled to begin at 11:00 am

CHESHIRE V STAFFORDSHIRE

On a cold and damp day at Nantwich CC, Cheshire lost their first Knockout Trophy match of the season by 44 runs (D/L)

HEREFORDSHIRE V CHESHIRE

In a rain affected match, Cheshire won the toss and elected to field.

Herefordshire scored 258 all out off 49.1 overs in their innings.

CHESHIRE ACADEMY XI V ENGLAND DISABILITIES XI

Cheshire Academy played the England Disabilities XI at Marple CC on Sunday, 5th June, 2016.

Two Twenty20 matches were played back-to-back with the first game starting at 10:30 am.
Cheshire won the first game by 14 runs.

CHESHIRE ACADEMY XI V SHROPSHIRE XI

The match between the Cheshire Academy and Shropshire at Whitchurch CC on Tuesday 14th June, 2016 which was cancelled due to a rain affected wicket was rearranged for Firday 8th July and played at Wrekin School, Wellington.

Cheshire won the 50 over match by 28 runs.

Cheshire won the toss and batted first on a good looking wicket, scoring 181 a.o. in 49.1 overs (Alex Money 39, Matt Ingram 20*, Morris 3-41)

In reply, Shropshire scored 153 a.o. off 41.5 overs (Chandler 31, Carassco 30, Billy Ouzounidis 3-25, Alex Townend 3-35)

WARWICKSHIRE ACADEMY XI V CHESHIRE ACADEMY XI

In an exciting match at Kenilworth Wardens CC on Thursday, 14th July, Cheshire Academy tied the match against Warwickshire Academy with each side scoring 320 runs off 50 overs.

AT OLD TRAFFORD

Cheshire players Rob Jones (left) and Danny Lamb (right) were fielding at the same time during the Old Trafford Test Match July 22nd - 25th, 2016.


PRESENTATION TO THE PRESIDENT

After lunch on the first day of the Devon match, John Pickup was presented with a framed print of Alderley Edge.

The presentation was made by Peter Davies, the Chairman of the Cheshire Cricket Board.

AT KIA OVAL

Cheshire player Rob Jones (left) has made his debut for Lancashire's First XI in their Championship match against Surrey at the Kia Oval on 23rd August, 2016

ROB JONES

Rob Jones made his second appearance for Lancashire CCC in their match against Somerset at Old Trafford.

He opened the batting with Haseeb Hameed.

HARRY DEARDEN

Harry Dearden (pictured) has just signed a contract to play for Leicestershire in 2017.

He made his debut for Leicestershire in their match against Derbyshire at Derby on 12th September 2016.

We wish him all the best for the future.

ROB JONES

Rob Jones in his third appearance for Lancashire CCC in their match against Middlesex at Old Trafford opened the batting and carried his bat for 106*.

This was twice as many runs as the two next highest scorers for Lancashire (53 for Livingstone and Bailey) and helped Lancashire avoid the follow-on.

He is the youngest Lancashire player to have carried his bat since 1935, when Cyril Washbrook carried his bat for 49* against Worcestershire.

Cheshire County Cricket Club "Open" Golf Day

Cheshire CCC held their "Open" Golf Day at Styal Golf Club, Wilmslow on September 30th.

This very successful day is reported here.

ANDY NORBURY

It is with great sadness that we have to announce the death of Cheshire County Cricket Club's most ardent supporter, Andy Norbury.

"Wolfie", as he was better known to players and fellow supporters, was a life member and only ever missed a Cheshire CCC match (home and away) if his beloved Wires were playing at the same time.

Here is an appreciation of Andy.

CHESHIRE COUNTY CRICKET CLUB AGM

The 102nd Annual General Meeting of the Cheshire County Cricket Club was held at 7:30 p.m. on the 21st November, 2016 at the Windmill, Tabley.
