MIDDLEWICH MATCH CANCELLED

The 50 over game between two teams drawn from the FIrst XI and the Development XI which should have been played at Middlewich on April 12th has had to be cancelled.

LINCOLNSHIRE V CHESHIRE AT GRANTHAM

New Cheshire Captain Dan Woods leads his team against Lincolnshire in the first Unicorns K.O. Trophy match of the 2015 season.

The match will be held at Grantham CC on the 19th April with play starting at 11:00 am.

Lincolnshire beat Cheshire by 93 runs in the opening match of the 2015 K.O. Trophy campaign.

In a record-breaking game, Cheshire beat Northumberland by 239 runs in the Unicorns Counties KO Trophy at Hyde CC on Sunday, 17th May.
Unfortunately, this fine win was not enough to allow Cheshire to progress to the Quarter Final stage of the competition.

TWENTY20 COMPETITION AT CHESTER BH

Lee Dixon will lead a team chosen from a squad of 14 players in the Dukes Unicorns Twenty20 Knock-out Competition which will be held at CHESTER BH CC, on Sunday, 31st May.

There will be three games, with Cheshire playing Northumberland in the first game starting at 10:00 am.
Cumberland will play Staffordshire in the second game which starts at 1:00pm.
The final will be played between the winners of the first two games and will start at 4:00 pm

Cheshire (165-7) beat Devon (156-8) by 9 runs in the first game. Scorecard

Oxfordshire (97-3 in 11.3 overs) beat Bedfordshire (106-7 in 14 overs) by 7 wickets (D/L) in the second match. Scorecard

Cheshire scored 240-0 with Warren Goodwin on 132* and Ollie Law on 101* at the end of the innings.
In reply, Oxfordshire scored 121 all out off 16.1 overs so Cheshire won by 119 runs. Scorecard

DEVELOPMENT XI AND OTHER TEAM NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS 2015


LANCASHIRE 2ND XI V CHESHIRE SELECT XI

Cheshire lost to Lancashire 2nd XI by 89 runs.

The match was held at Urmston CC with play starting at 3:45 pm and the team was led by Lee Dixon.

CHESHIRE DEVELOPMENT XI NEWS

Rick Moore was Player/Coach for the Cheshire Development XI for two matches in one week

The first was a T20 double-headed friendly on Monday 29th June against Warwickshire Academy and was played at Elworth CC. Cheshire won the first match by 23 runs while Warwickshire won the second one by 32 runs.

The second one was a two-day fixture against the Shropshire Development XI starting on Wednesday 1st July and was played at Tattenhall CC. Bad weather on the second day meant that the match was drawn.

CHESHIRE DEVELOPMENT XI NEWS

Unfortunately, Cheshire were unable to assemble a team for the match against the Lancashire U19 team which was to have been held at Heywood on July 14th and 15th.

Regrettably, this match had to be cancelled.

CHESHIRE DEVELOPMENT XI NEWS

Cheshire Development XI won their last match of the season against Shropshire Development XI by 4 wickets at Barnton CC on Thursday 23rd July.

Shropshire won the toss and elected to bat, scoring 216-8 in 50 overs. Tyrone Lawrence took 2-32, Tom Foreman 2-31, Alex Money 1-55, Jack Ward 1-23 and Matt Ingram 1-31.

In reply, Cheshire scored 217-6 in 48.1 overs (Alex Banks 68, Ben Marsden 29, Tyrone Lawrence 28, Adam Garrod 22 and Alex Money 32*).

GERRY HARDSTAFF

It is with great sadness that we have to announce the death of our great friend and colleague, Gerry Hardstaff.

Here is his obituary.

Gerry Hardstaff's funeral was held at St Mary's church in Sandbach on Friday the 17th April at 11am.

DONALD SMITH

It is with great sadness that we have to announce the death of another friend and colleague, Donald Smith.

Donald's funeral was held at Macclesfield Crematorium on Friday the 24th April.
