MATCH CANCELLED
There were two changes in the team that played Cambridgeshire on May 5th. Rick Moore (left) should have come in for Lee Dixon and Danny Cranmer for the unavailable Danny Woods.
Torrential rain caused the match to be cancelled.

CHESHIRE v NORTHUMBERLAND AT HYDE 2nd JUNE, 2013

The Road Show will make its second appearance of the season at the last KO Trophy match of the season.
There is one change in the team that was to have played Cumberland on May 19th. Jack Williams (left) comes in for Rick Moore who is playing for Northamptonshire.

REVIEW OF MATCH AT HYDE & PREVIEW OF FIRST CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

Cheshire lost their final KO Championship match against Northumberland at Hyde on June 2nd by 103 runs.
Jim Law (left) has written a report of the match and has coupled it with a preview of the first Championship match of the season against Oxfordshire at Great & Little Tew which starts on Sunday 9th Jume.

DANNY WOODS LEADS CHESHIRE TO A FINE WIN OVER OXFORDSHIRE

Cheshire won their opening Championship match by 135 runs in just two days. Stunning bowling from Danny Woods, Adam Syddall and Jack Williams allowed Cheshire to beat Oxfordshire in convincing fashion.

PREVIEW OF CHESHIRE v WILTSHIRE AT CHESTER BOUGHTON HALL

With James Duffy being unavailable, Danny Woods takes over the Captaincy again for the Championship clash against Wiltshire at Chester Boughton Hall, Sunday - Tuesday, June 23-25 2013.

CHESHIRE EDGE OUT WILTSHIRE IN TIGHT FINISH

A tense final day culminated with a fine 34 run win for Cheshire as they saw off Wiltshire at Chester Boughton Hall.
Warren Goodwin (left) top-scored with a fine 104 in the first innings and 63 in the second.

Danny Woods leads Cheshire again when they travel to Bournemouth looking for their third consecutive win.

DEVELOPMENT XI v LANCASHIRE SECOND XI AT SALE CC 6th JUNE, 2013

Cheshire Development XI beat Lancashire Second XI by two wickets at sunny Sale C.C. on Thursday 6th June.
In a nail-biting finish, Cheshire won off the fifth ball of the final over of the game. Lancashire Second XI 275 - 9 of 45 overs, Cheshire Development XI 276 - 8 off 44.4 (The last ball was a no-ball)

*** SALE CC HOSTS FAMOUS CHESHIRE DEVELOPMENT XI WIN ***

After years of hard work to improve facilities, Sale Sports Club was rewarded with a prestigious representative fixture between Lancashire 2nd XI and Cheshire Development XI.
The Cheshire Devt XI run jointly by the Board and Cheshire CCC won by two wickets in the last over. Lancashire 275-9 (Luke Procter 88 & Arron Lilley 78), Cheshire 276-8 (Charlie Reid 107). With a century and two wickets, the match winning performance for Cheshire came from Alderley Edge's Charlie Reid (pictured left - photo courtesy George Franks)

The match at King Edward's School, Birmingham was abandoned following heavy rain during the first innings.

Cheshire won the match at Macclesfield C.C. by 144 runs. Patrick Ashling scored 159 runs off 94 balls including 18 fours and 7 sixes.

Annual General Meeting of the Cheshire County Cricket Club

The 98th Annual General Meeting of the Cheshire County Cricket Club was held at the Golden Pheasant at Plumley on Monday 19th November, 2012.
At the meeting, Keith McGuffie (Pictured) was elected as Honorary Treasurer to replace Graham Hall, who had held the post for 31 years.

Sandy Scrimgeour
9th January, 1940 - 19th March, 2013

The service for Sandy was held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Heaton Chapel.
At the service, the Chairman of the County Club, John Pickup paid tribute to Sandy.
His eulogy may be read here.
Elise asked us to post this message: 'Elise, Steven and Lynn were sorry not to be able to thank everyone personally outside the church due to the numbers in attendance and the timescale at the Crematorium. We would like to thank everyone for their kind expressions of sympathy at this time.'

The Cheshire Roadshow will be touring the county, visiting League grounds as well as being present at First XI matches.

MT-B'S SERVICES TO CHESHIRE CRICKET RECOGNISED
IN QUEEN'S BIRTHDAY HONOURS LIST

Congratulations from Cheshire County Cricket Club and all its members and supporters to Mike Talbot-Butler BEM on the award of a BRITISH EMPIRE MEDAL in the Queen's Birthday Honours List. It has been awarded in recognition of his services to Cheshire Cricket.

Paul Chorlton, Chairman of Hyde Cricket & Squash Club, has been nominated as a potential new member of the Committee. Voting for him, other members of the Committee and the Officers will be at the Annual General Meeting of the Cheshire County Cricket Club which will be held on the 18th November at the Golden Pheasant, Plumley.

FOUR COUNTY CAPPED PLAYERS DISCOVERED

The County Club Archivist, Tony Percival, has discovered four more players that were capped in 1947. These caps had not been recorded in previous lists of capped players.
