Cheshire must wait to see the outcome of the Cumberland v Northumberland T20 double header on 15 July to book their final's day place.

It was a frustrating day as Cheshire first beat Lincolnshire by 8 runs with Wayne White hitting 61 in a total of 148-6.

Nick Anderson added 44 and although Louis Kimber (54) and Conrad Louth (32) gave the home side impetus, Cheshire fought back with Jack White taking 2-15 and Luke Robinson 2-26. Cheshire squeezed home by 8 runs.

But the second game was a different story. Jamie Crawley top scored with a fine 64 and Wayne White continued his good form with 52. The innings finished in extraordinary fashion as Alex Willerton took four wickets with the last four balls, ending with 5-28.

And Lincolnshire then made light work of their reply to cruise home by 8 wickets with five overs left. Big hitting Louth (34), Kimber 73* and Bilal Shafayat (50) causing the damage.

So it all means waiting until 15 July when either Cumberland or Northumberland could yet challenge Cheshire if either wins both games and end with a superior net run rate.

"It was frustrating to not grab our opportunity," said Moore. "But we've come a long way quickly and we're regroup ahead of our first Championship game next week and KO Trophy semi-final the week after (both against Shropshire)."
