Cheshire travel south looking for three from three

MCCA 3 Day Championship: Dorset CCC v Cheshire CCC at Dean Park, Bournemouth, Sunday - Tuesday, July 7-9 2013

Cheshire set sail for Dorset this weekend looking to build on a fine start to their MCCA campaign, claiming the scalps of Oxfordshire and Wiltshire in their first two matches.

And whilst Dorset may be firmly rooted to the foot of the Western Division table, skipper Danny Woods is under no illusions about the challenge ahead.

'Dorset have been strong in recent years', says Woods. They beat us last year in the cup quarter final and we're only too aware of their strengths. We'll just go there with the right attitude. It's a long trip but always an enjoyable one and we're full of confidence.'

Woods masterminded a fine victory last time out, his eight wickets adding to eight from the first game. 'Of course it's pleasing to get wickets 'but let's not forget that the batsmen put us in a decent position at Chester with the top order just beginning to tick'.

That top order will include centurion Warren Goodwin who goes into the game as the County's leading run scorer and on a real streak of form.

One familiar face Cheshire could come up against in the Dorset side is Rupert Kitzinger who's plied his trade locally for many years and is currently with Bramhall.

Woods, continuing to deputise for James Duffy, makes one enforced change to the side with Ian Tait (above) replacing Scott Kirwin.

Play starts each morning at 11.00am.
