Fired up Cheshire look to capitalise on early win
MCCA 3 Day Championship: Cheshire CCC v Wiltshire CCC at Chester Boughton Hall
Sunday - Tuesday, June 23-25 2013

Cheshire arrive at Chester Boughton Hall in buoyant mood after last week's dramatic two day win over Oxfordshire.

A stunning attacking display turned the match upside down to claim a fine win which skipper Danny Woods hopes will kick start the season. Woods continues at the helm in place of the absent James Duffy and is relishing the contest.

'It's true to say that we weren't at our best in the one dayers,' he said, 'but the win over Oxfordshire has really buoyed the guys. There are still a number of areas that we need to improve in of course, but we'll take the momentum of that game into the Wiltshire match and we're really looking forward to it.'

Woods makes just one change to the side that won so comprehensively with Lee Dixon returning after a couple of matches break. Dixon replaces Danny Cranmer. 'Danny's time will come,' explained Woods, 'but we want to bolster the top order for this game and Lee has been back in the runs again for his Club. He's a great asset in the dressing room too and it helps that we're playing at his home ground.'

Dixon is one of three Chester Boughton Hall players in the side which includes Warren Goodwin and Jack Williams who performed so impressively with six wickets in his debut against Oxfordshire.

Cheshire tweaked their batting order in the second innings against Oxfordshire and Woods doesn't rule out similar changes this time round. 'We'll take a look at the situation and then make a call. It's great that we've the flexibility that offers us a couple of options.'

Wiltshire make the long haul north on the back of a defeat against Shropshire and will be looking for their first win over Cheshire since 1997 - in the 11 games since, Cheshire have won seven and there've been four draws.

Play starts each morning at 11.00am; entry is free with a bar and refreshments available throughout the three days.
