Captain looks forward to Cheshire's first match of the season

Cheshire skipper James Duffy is relishing the return of Jimmy Warrington (shown left) to his bowling line-up as his side begin their MCCA KO campaign away to Herefordshire on Sunday.

Warrington returns to the side for his first game for two years after being unavailable in 2012, when he became the father of twins.

'Having Jimmy back in the side is a real boost for us,' remarked Duffy as the skipper prepares for his second season in charge of the County side. 'We all know what Jimmy is capable of and his quality and experience will be a valuable asset to us in the one dayers.'

Restricted to club cricket in 2012, the Nantwich talisman spearheaded his club's third successive Cheshire County League Championship triumph, the popular 29 year old taking 58 wickets.

'I'm really excited about the new season,' continues Duffy. 'We've netted well and with a number of talented youngsters pushing through, nobody can rest on their laurels. We've a long season ahead of us and there will be plenty of opportunities for others to stake their claim in the side'.

A strong top order sees Chris Tipper return, one of four Hyde players in the side and a chance for Macclesfield's Khalid Sawas to build on his stunning form of 2012.

Cheshire's 2013 50 over MCCA KO campaign includes Herefordshire (Brockhampton, April 21), Cambridgeshire (Tattenhall, May 5), Cumberland (Kendall, May 19) and Northumberland (Hyde, June 2). The three day Championship season gets underway with a trip to Oxfordshire in June.
