Cheshire v Herefordshire at Chester Boughton Hall C.C.
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday August 19, 20 and 21, 2012

Last week’s convincing win over Berkshire at Nantwich, with the twin spin attack of Danny Woods and Ross Dixon demolishing Berkshire in their second innings, has whetted Captain James Duffy’s appetite for the coming match against Herefordshire at Chester Boughton Hall.
“That win has proved that we have a very competitive team now,” he said. “All the less experienced players have learned a lot over the season and the team spirit is very high. Prior to last week’s match we were languishing near the bottom of the Championship table and we are now in sixth place. Although we don’t have a realistic hope of winning the Championship this year, a god win could see us finish in the top three or four.”
“Last week, Rick Moore was called away from the side to play for Kent Second XI, but I am pleased to say that he will be available for this, our final match of the campaign. He will be replacing Tom Twiney in the side that played against Berkshire and, injuries permitting, that is the only change in the team.”
“The weather has played havoc with the games played this year, both in the Championship and the Knockout Trophy, but, all being well, a good win in fine weather will be a fitting climax to the season for Cheshire,” he said.
The match is scheduled to start at 11:00 am on each of the three days, although the second and third days can start at 10:30 if there has been a loss of overs in earlier days.
