Ton for Lancashire's Rob Jones.

Lee Dixon's select Cheshire side put on a spirited performance in a prestigious friendly against Lancashire 22nd XI at Chester Boughton Hall.

Rob Jones - who along with Danny Lamb has also played for Cheshire - hit an outstanding 119 for the visitors after a side including Lancashire 1st XI skipper Liam Livingstone, had slumped to 52-4.

Jones was well supported by Josh Bohannon (56).

Lancashire made 278 against an impressive bowling attack including Wayne White (3-45), Jack White (3-57) and Jack Williams (2-52).

Dixon was again the mainstay of the Cheshire reply as he plundered 76 before running out of partners. Warren Goodwin impressed with 43 as did debutant Wayne White with 24.

"It was a cracking day," said Dixon.

"Great to play good competitive cricket against a strong side and really compete.

"Special for me to get runs at my home ground on a big occasion with a good crowd.

"We move on to Wales on Sunday with confidence."

Cheshire's Unicorns KO campaign sees them travel to Newport on Sunday 7 May (11.00am start).
